At that time, it was a very small town and these observations were taken on the electric company's property. In 1945 this was moved to the Huntsville Municipal Airport. In 1958 and 1967 the station was moved again with the 1967 move becoming a permanent move as this is where the station is today, at the Huntsville International Airport.

This was an important move due to the elevation and features of the area being practically the same as the area from which it was moved. The same land features, including natural ones for example, where rivers, mountains and railroads as well as highways.
